Adrian Peterson Injury: Vikings Star Could Return In December, Per Report

The Minnesota Vikings broke a four-game skid Sunday with a huge win over the Arizona Cardinals, and more good news might be on the horizon.

Ben Goessling of ESPN.com has reported, citing league sources, that superstar running back Adrian Peterson could return to the Vikings sometime in December. Peterson suffered a meniscus tear in his right knee in Week 2 and needed to have surgery.

The Vikings desperately need him back, too. They rank dead last in the NFL with 2.7 yards per rushing attempt and 70 rushing yards per game. It’s made their offense one-dimensional and was a major reason for their four-game losing streak after a 5-0 start.

Minnesota visits the Detroit Lions on Thursday for a pivotal NFC North division matchup. Both teams are 6-4, which means the winner will take over first place in the division with five game left in the regular season.
