Chiefs Shock Broncos In OT Behind Cairo Santos’ Last-Second Field Goal

The Kansas City Chiefs-Denver Broncos “Sunday Night Football” game is one they’ll be talking about in the AFC West and beyond for a while.

The Chiefs stormed back to force overtime with a late touchdown that almost didn’t count and two-point conversion, and the game once again was tied after both teams made field goals on their opening OT drives.

The Broncos had a chance to win, but Brandon McManus couldn’t connect on a 62-yard field goal. That gave the Chiefs one final shot to win the crucial AFC West matchup, and that’s exactly what they did thanks to a Cairo Santos 34-yard field goal.

The field goal, however, was anything but a sure bet, especially when it hit off the post. But it still somehow barely went through the uprights and secured a 30-27 win for KC.

With the win, the Chiefs remain in the first wild-card spot, while the Broncos now are chasing the Miami Dolphins in the AFC playoff picture.
