David Backes Makes Bruins History With Goal Against Former Team

David Backes’ first-period goal Tuesday night against the St. Louis Blues made a little history.

Facing his former team for the first time, the Boston Bruins winger gave the B’s an early advantage on the power play when he deflected a rebound off a Torey Krug shot from the point past Blues goalie Jake Allen at the 12:16 mark.

Backes’ fourth goal of the season will go down in the history books, too, as it was the Bruins’ 20,000 goal in team history.
