Kansas Football Player Camouflages Self In End Zone In Weirdest Trick Play Of 2016

The Kansas football team nearly pulled off the Houdini of trick plays Saturday.

Kansas’ LaQuvionte Gonzalez used the end zone as camouflage in an effort to confuse Iowa State in one of the strangest trick plays you’ll ever see. Gonzalez, clad in Kansas’ deep blue, laid down in the end zone in an effort to blend in and use the element of surprise to his team’s advantage.

Had Steve Smith Jr.’s throw been better, Gonzalez might have gained more than 35 yards on the return … a lot more.

The Jayhawks aren’t the first Big 12 team to try this bizarre play, as TCU attempted similar trickery against Oklahoma in 2014.

But Kansas failed to execute, which mirrored its fortunes this season, as the Cyclones beat the Jayhawks 31-24 to consign their hosts to a 1-9 record.

At least the Jayhawks still are having fun out there.
