‘Running For His Life: The Lawrence Phillips Story’ Documentary To Premiere Friday On Showtime

“Running For His Life” follows the life and ultimate death of former NFL player and college football standout, Lawrence Phillips. Through interviews and game footage, Showtime takes you through the childhood that plagued Phillips and the college life that would bring national attention and championships, but also a life off the field filled with domestic abuse.

Big names like Nick Saban and Ray Lewis are interviewed, as well as former Sports Illustrated writer Lars Anderson, who followed Lawrence during college and beyond. NESN.com’s Courtney Cox had the chance to talk to Anderson about the making of the documentary and his personal experience in following this story.

You can watch “Running For His Life” on Friday at 9 p.m. ET on Showtime.
