Bruins’ Anders Bjork Out For Season After Undergoing Shoulder Surgery

Anders Bjork’s promising rookie season with the Boston Bruins has been cut short.

Bruins head team physician Dr. Peter Asnis revealed in a statement Thursday that Bjork underwent a successful left shoulder arthroscopy and labral repair earlier this week. The expected recovery time is approximately six months, meaning the 21-year-old winger’s first NHL season is over.

Bjork, a fifth-round pick in 2014, totaled four goals and eight assists for 12 points in 30 games with Boston this season. He hasn’t appeared in a game since Jan. 30 after being involved in an awkward collision with Anaheim Ducks defenseman Francois Beauchemin.
