Russell Wilson can throw the deep ball, and apparently he can hit it, too.
Wilson, as he’s done the past few MLB seasons, broke out his baseball glove and bat for spring training. The Seattle Seahawks quarterback originally was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in 2010, but he now can call himself an honorary Yankee after New York acquired his rights in a trade with the Texas Rangers on Feb. 7.
The Yankees are already loaded with home-run hitters, as the Bronx Bombers added Giancarlo Stanton in the offseason to join Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez. And while Wilson likely would struggle in a regular-season big league game, he sure looks good in batting practice.
Check out Wilson send a ball into orbit during the Yankees’ spring training session Monday:
Wilson’s swing might be as smooth as his ability to maneuver in the pocket.
