Texas once again is in the NCAA Tournament, but how long will the Longhorns last?
It’s been an up-and-down season for Shaka Smart’s team, and things won’t get any easier Friday when Texas faces Nevada in the first round of the tourney. The No. 7-seeded Wolf Pack are one of just five mid-major teams to receive an at-large bid after a successful campaign in the Mountain West Conference.
The 10th-seeded Longhorns had a difficult schedule, which certainly played into their rollercoaster season. Perhaps that experience will prove beneficial against Nevada.
Texas is playing in the NCAA Tournament for the 18th time in the last 20 seasons — it didn’t make the Big Dance last year — but hasn’t won a game in the tourney since 2014.
