NFL Rumors: Vikings’ Sam Bradford Is Expected To Sign With Cardinals

Sam Bradford appears set to land on his feet during this dizzying period of NFL free agency.

The Minnesota Vikings quarterback is expected to join the Arizona Cardinals as a free agent, NFL Media’s Tiffany Blackmon reported Tuesday via Twitter. He’ll become the Cardinals’ presumed starter as early as Wednesday since they don’t currently have any quarterbacks under contract.

A source told NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport thar Bradford will sign a lucrative one-year deal, which contains an option for a second season.

Bradford, 30, began the 2017 season as the Vikings quarterback, but a knee injury felled him after Week 1, and he didn’t start another game until Week 5. Case Keenum eventually assumed the role and led Minnesota to the NFC Championship Game.

Bradford underwent season-ending knee surgery in November with hopes of curing ligament damage, but the procedure might not have returned him to full fitness. Mike Zimmer described Bradford’s knee issue as “degenerative” earlier this month.
