You might not know it, but indoor lacrosse is an absolute highlight factory — we’re talking ridiculous goals, incredibly entertaining fights and heavily armored goalies making absurd saves on the regular.
Well, you can add hilarious penalty calls to that list.
During Saturday’s National Lacrosse League game between the Colorado Mammoth and the Vancouver Stealth, two players were handed penalties for getting overly physical. That’s when referee Todd Labranche stole the show.

And you thought NHL referee Wes McCauley was epic.
After the dust settled, the Stealth buried three unanswered goals and eventually captured a 13-12 victory in Denver. It was a tough end to what began as a memorable afternoon for the crowd at Pepsi Center, as the Mammoth held a pregame ceremony to retire the jersey of John Grant Jr., one of the greatest forwards in NLL and Major League Lacrosse history.
