It may only be spring training, but Mike Trout very well could have just launched one of the most impressive home runs of his career.
The 26-year-old has no shortage of accolades — two-time MVP, six-time All-Star and five-time Silver Slugger to name a few — while clubbing 201 regular season homers over his seven-year career.
But during a spring training game Saturday against the San Francisco Giants, Trout smacked a moonshot over not just the wall in straightaway center field (which is 420 feet from home plate), but also over the towering batter’s eye directly behind the wall.
Prepare to be impressed:
It hasn’t taken Trout too long to remind pitchers why they need to be fearful every time he is at the dish.
