New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone wasn’t happy about the apparent retaliation from the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday night that sparked a bench-clearing brawl at Fenway Park.

During the seventh inning, Yankees designated hitter Tyler Austin stepped to the plate and took a fastball to the ribs from Red Sox reliever Joe Kelly. Austin, who cleated Red Sox shortstop Brock Holt in the third inning, believed this to be intentional and charged the mound, sparking a brawl.

After the game, Boone told reporters he doesn’t think the Sox handled the situation the right way.
