Bruins Injuries: Bruce Cassidy Gives Encouraging Updates As Playoffs Near

The Boston Bruins won’t be back to full strength for their regular-season finale against the Florida Panthers, but help still might be on the horizon.

Prior to Sunday’s pivotal matchup at TD Garden, Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy gave updates on injured wingers Rick Nash and Sean Kuraly, as well as banged-up center Riley Nash. Although none of the three players will play against the Panthers, it’s possible each suit up for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Here’s Cassidy’s full list of updates:

Good news all around.

Boston surely would’ve liked to have the full squad back before the playoffs, but it likely wants to be extra careful with the postseason just around the corner. The Bruins can clinch the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference with a win Sunday, while a loss would lock them into the second seed and a first-round matchup with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The B’s will play the New Jersey Devils in the first round if they prevail over Florida.

Game 1 of the playoffs for Boston is scheduled for Thursday night at TD Garden.
