The Donald Sterling saga has had more twists and turns than a Six Flags ride, but Sterling and his pal V. Stiviano seem ready to clear the air by embarking on a media tour. Sterling reportedly bailed on his interviews with Anderson Cooper and Barbara Walters this week, but Stiviano kept her date with Walters on “20/20” to tell her side of the story.

Stiviano, who recorded the audio of Sterling’s racist remarks last month, appeared on “20/20” on Friday night. It was her first time speaking out since Sterling was banned from the NBA for his comments.

Stiviano told Walters that Sterling should apologize for his remarks, and that she doesn’t think he’s a racist at heart. She goes on to say that he’s “hurt” by the things he said.

Stiviano also said that this wasn’t the first of this type of conversation that she and Sterling had had, and that there were a “number of hours” of similar conversations on tape.

Hear what Stiviano had to say in the video below.
