Jaylen Brown had the basketball world buzzing Monday night, but not for anything related to the ongoing Team USA saga.

Brown sat courtside in Las Vegas for the Summer League matchup between the Celtics and the Lakers. And the NBA Finals MVP, who was joined by girlfriend Kysre Gondrezick and WNBA star Angel Reese, appeared to take aim at arguably the biggest name on the floor.

Boston's franchise cornerstone appeared to say, "I don't think Bronny (James) is a pro" to his high-profile guests. The clip of the comment went viral on social media, which prompted Brown to address it on X.

"It's a flex to have your son alongside you in the NBA it reflects greatness and longevity!" Brown posted. "Bronny has all the tools around him to be successful I look forward to watching his growth."

Well, that wasn't exactly a backtrack. A denial would have been out of the ordinary anyway, as Brown routinely stands firm on his takes and beliefs.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for James, who was selected No. 55 overall by Los Angeles in this year's draft. But Celtics-Lakers matchups, which already were appointment television, could receive an extra dash of tension depending on how James' legendary father receives Brown's remarks.
