Drake Maye only had a surface-level knowledge about the Patriots before he was drafted by New England, so he received a warm welcome to the team from a high-profile Mass. native.

Maye’s brothers went viral on draft night with a callback to the Fab Five in a video shown after the North Carolina product was drafted third overall by the Patriots. The 21-year-old also had another video shown to help acclimate him to his new team.

The young QB and his fellow rookie class were part of a Fanatics video where they were welcomed to their respective teams by famous fans and celebrities. For Maye, Mark Wahlberg was the one who welcomed “Drizzy Drake” to New England.

“You need anything, call me. If anybody (expletives) with you — bleep that out — call me,” Wahlberg told Maye.

The video featured other celebrities like Kevin Durant, Kevin Hart and DJ Khaled and concluded with Maye and other members of his rookie class signing their hats along with a “welcome home” ending tagline.

Maye built up a strong fan base throughout the offseason, and he’ll hope to gain even more through training camp as he competes for the starting quarterback job with Jacoby Brissett.
