MLB's trade deadline is coming up on July 30 and with a postseason contending Boston Red Sox team, they are looking to add strong players to make a push in the playoffs.
The Chicago White Sox are currently one of the worst teams in baseball, sitting on a 27-71 record. With the team's tough season, they will be sellers as the trade deadline comes around.
The Red Sox in April agreed on a trade from the White Sox, sending left-handed pitcher Bailey Horn to Boston, but who else could the Red Sox target?
Garrett Crochet

The Red Sox need to boost their starting rotation, and Crochet would be the perfect fit.
In 20 games started during the 2024 season, the left-hander posted a 3.02 ERA in 107.1 innings. He leads MLB in strikeouts at the All-Star break, punching out 150 batters and walking just 23.
His 6-6 record does not speak for his performance, considering the season the White Sox have had. Crochet was named to the All-Star Game as Chicago's only player to go to the event.
This season is the 25-year-old's first full season as a starter, and he has thrived in the role. While the value for Crochet will likely be very high, he is someone the Red Sox could look into as an addition to the starting rotation.

Erick Fedde
Fedde could be another solid addition to the Red Sox's starting rotation, being another steady arm for the White Sox.
The right-hander is having one of the best of his seven seasons in MLB. In 19 games started, Fedde has a 2.99 ERA and 7-3 record. He has struck out 99 batters and walked 30 through 111.1 innings.
The 31-year-old took a break from professional baseball in 2023 after six seasons with the Washington Nationals. He spent a season in Korea to improve and returned as a better pitcher.

With the White Sox reportedly willing to trade anyone, Fedde would be a huge addition to the Red Sox.
The Red Sox could also look at right-handed bats like Luis Robert Jr. and Andrew Vaughn, who are also being shopped around by the White Sox. These names could be exciting players to watch if they ended up in Boston.
