Bruins CEO Highlights ‘Unfinished Business’ Of Boston’s Offseason

The Bruins offseason went off to a strong start, but there still is one move left to make before players report for training camp.

Boston addressed two big needs when it signed Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov. The pair of free-agent signings ideally should help boost the Black and Gold in the postseason with multiple key players returning for another run.

The B's also made a huge transaction when they traded Linus Ullmark to the Ottawa Senators in a deal that included Joonas Korpisalo arriving in Boston. The move put Jeremy Swayman on track to be the team's No. 1 goalie, but the restricted free agent and the Bruins did not agree to a deal during the start of free agency.

Swayman and the Bruins opted not to file for arbitration, which hinted that a deal was close between the sides. Charlie Jacobs on Tuesday made the media rounds for the WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon and gave a minor update on negotiations with the star goalie.

"I try not to comment on player personnel contract negotiations. We are still negotiating with Sway," the Bruins CEO and alternate governor said on "Gresh & Fauria," per WEEI. "I hope that he's ready to play come training camp. We have some things to work out. I'm sure we'll get there."

Jacobs added that if there was any "unfinished business" for the Bruins this summer, it was signing Swayman to a contract extension.

Former Bruins goalie and NESN analyst Andrew Raycroft didn't have any worries that the sides could agree to a deal, and Jacobs admitted Tuesday that the team is close to an agreement.
