Mac Jones reportedly irked people in New England at various points of his Patriots tenure, but he's making a good first impression in Jacksonville.

Jones, who the Patriots traded to the Jaguars in mid-March, has been showing off his colorful personality ever since he got to work in Northern Florida. While the 2021 first-round pick occasionally drives his head coach "crazy" with his antics, the team appreciates how Jones is all business when he's in between the lines.

"Mac is having a great time," Jaguars starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence told reporters last week, per The Boston Globe. "Mac's fun to be around, man. He's just bubbly, loves football, loves being out here, the guys respond great to him. But he also has great command. He's not just a jokester. He's serious and takes care of his business. Really smart player. I've been impressed with how he's handled everything, obviously coming into a new QB room, different role."

Jones isn't expected to see much -- if any -- playing time in his first season with Jacksonville. But backup quarterbacks typically are expected to stay very prepared while also being a supportive teammate who brings good energy to the locker room.

It sounds like Jones can check those boxes with the Jaguars, which could help his case next spring when he's slated to hit free agency.
