The New England Patriots already made one attempt to acquire standout wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk from the San Francisco 49ers this offseason during the NFL draft.
Now, the Patriots are reportedly on the cusp of a deal for Aiyuk.
NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco reported late Monday night that New England and the Cleveland Browns each have trade frameworks in place that San Francisco accepted for Aiyuk. The wideout now has to choose which offer he will accept.
In that reported framework on New England's end, Maiocco reported that Kendrick Bourne is expected to go to the 49ers in the potential deal.

"The Patriots are expected to include former 49ers wide receiver Kendrick Bourne as part of the deal if Aiyuk were to accept New England's offer," Maiocco wrote.
Bourne spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the 49ers, which included a trip to Super Bowl LIV during the 2019 season. He then signed a three-year deal with the Patriots before the 2021 season and inked another three-year contract this past offseason.
Bourne just turned 29 this week and currently sits on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list for the Patriots with training camp underway. In this scenario, he would return to his original team, a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
Just days away from the preseason opener against the Carolina Panthers, the Patriots appear to be poised for a blockbuster deal.

That all comes down to a decision from Aiyuk.
