Drew Bledsoe Takes Shot At Tony Romo While Praising Tom Brady

Drew Bledsoe apparently liked sharing a quarterback room with Tom Brady more than he did with Tony Romo.

Bledsoe appeared on ESPN's "Sunday NFL Countdown" before the Week 1 slate and spoke about being the veteran in the room with a young quarterback. While sharing insight on the topic, referencing his time with the New England Patriots as well as the Dallas Cowboys, Bledsoe pushed back on one question: Does the veteran owe it to the young quarterback to be a mentor.

"I don't know if I would go that far," Bledsoe said on ESPN.

Bledsoe proceeded to reflect on a moment during the 2006 season when former Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells benched Bledsoe in favor of Romo.

"In Dallas, Parcells made the decision to yank me at halftime of a game and throw Romo in there. I really didn't agree with that one," Bledsoe said.

"If you're watching this, Romo, you know this is true: The minute that he became the starter, he became pretty big in his own mind and he was no longer the curious and inquisitive guy. That was the difference between him and Tommy (Brady). When Tommy became the starter, he still was asking all the questions where all of a sudden Romo was the guy that had all the answers."

Romo replaced Bledsoe during Week 7 against the New York Giants and Bledsoe did not play another game in his career. He retired in 2007.
