UPDATE (4:45 p.m. ET): The Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday announced they signed defensive tackle Lawrence Guy.
Original Story: Lawrence Guy has been sitting on the open market since he was released by the New England Patriots in February, but he might not be available much longer.
The Bengals are working out multiple veterans Tuesday, including Guy and Albert Huggins, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media. Cincinnati has been ravaged by injuries through two weeks with Kris Jenkins, McKinnley Jackson, BJ Hill and Sheldon Rankins all going down early in the year.
Guy, 34, signed with the Patriots as a free agent in 2017 and made 110 regular-season appearances for the team throughout a seven-year run. He was a part of New England's last two trips to the Super Bowl, winning one and eventually being named a captain. He recently worked out for the Baltimore Ravens, though nothing materialized.

New England saved money by cutting Guy, entrusting Davon Godchaux and Christian Barmore with greater responsibility entering the season. Barmore went down with blood clots, but the decision to move on still looks like a smart one as the Patriots have the second-ranked run defense thus far.
The Bengals need some help, however, and few available options are better than Guy.
