Bill Belichick proved to be an interesting media personality in the first month of the NFL season, but the rumors and speculation about the former New England Patriots head coach's next spot won't stop.

The Dallas Cowboys are the obvious contender since Belichick has a strong relationship with Jerry Jones. The Philadelphia Eagles and other darkhorse contenders were thrown around after multiple potential contenders started off the season cold.

However, one team that continued to pop up was the Jacksonville Jaguars. NESN.com's Mike Cole and Ricky Doyle tossed around the hypothetical as a potential flyer, and NFL insider Albert Breer laid down why the AFC South side would be an "ideal spot."

"Depending on what he thinks of Trevor Lawrence, you have the quarterback there," Breer said this week, per NBC Sports Boston. "It's convenient to one of his residences, South Florida. Shad Khan, to some degree, is an absentee owner. He's not around a lot, so he (Belichick) would be able to run the show there. He's got a relationship with Shad's son, Tony. I think this is a detail a lot of people might not know. When they hired Doug Marrone in 2017, they did so largely on the advice of Bill Belichick. The Khans heard from Bill Belichick that they should hire Marrone. So clearly Belichick has the ear of ownership, too."

Two years ago, Tony Khan referred to Belichick as a "father figure" at an AEW event in Worcester, Mass. That close relationship could allow Belichick to have free rein to bring in the people he wants, which reportedly was a sticking point for the people within the Atlanta Falcons organization during his negotiations with the franchise.

Lawrence signed a massive extension last offseason, so if Jackonsville's struggles continue, it could be a trickle-up effect that could affect offensive coordinator Press Taylor and eventually head coach Doug Pederson.
