Mac Jones had been thriving since getting a change of scenery when the New England Patriots traded the former first-round selection to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Jones had fun teasing his rap skills to tossing preseason touchdowns to win the backup job behind fellow 2021 draft pick Trevor Lawrence. That situation crashed since the regular season, with the Jaguars falling to 0-3 after an embarrassing 47-10 blowout loss to the Buffalo Bills on Monday night.
Jones eventually relieved Lawrence in the loss and didn't exactly improve the product on offense for the Jaguars. On just his third play of the night, Jones got strip-sacked by Javon Solomon with Buffalo recovering deep in Jacksonville territory to set up another Bills touchdown.
Jones did fire a would-have-been touchdown that Jaguars receiver Parker Washington clearly dropped in the end zone with a minute remaining in the contest.

It's a small sample size, but Jones may have proved a point the Patriots made by moving on from the quarterback they hoped would lead them to better success in the post-Tom Brady era.
