There are plenty of ways to describe Tom Brady.
New England Patriots great. Legendary quarterback. Seven-time Super Bowl champion. FOX broadcaster. And now, NFL owner.
Brady’s bid to become part owner of the Las Vegas Raiders finally got approved Tuesday at the league’s annual fall meeting in Atlanta, according to multiple reports. Brady officially has a 5% stake in the Raiders.
The 47-year-old isn’t the only Patriots legend who became part of the Raiders ownership group Tuesday. Pro Football Hall of Famer and three-time Super Bowl champion Richard Seymour, who played eight seasons alongside Brady with New England, also purchased a minority stake in the franchise.
“I’m deeply grateful — humbled and honored — to become a NFL owner,” Seymour posted on the X platform. “This is the mission of a lifetime, and I accept it with both purpose and pride. With great opportunity comes great responsibility. And I pledge to be a worthy steward of our game — and all it makes possible.”

Brady waited over a year to get the green light from fellow NFL owners to buy a stake in the Raiders. Brady initially came to terms on the deal in May 2023, but rumors surfaced that Raiders majority owner Mark Davis handed out a significant discount to Brady to get him on board.
Brady is expected to stay on as a broadcaster on FOX’s No. 1 team, but being a part owner put restrictions on his access to our teams in that job.
The Raiders are not the first professional sports franchise in which Brady holds a stake in. He became a partial owner of the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces, who are also owned by Davis, in March 2023 and in August of that year, he also became a minority owner of Birmingham City FC, a soccer club that competes in the English Football League Championship.
