The New England Patriots only sent one representative to Boulder, Colo., on Friday.
Colorado Buffaloes stars Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders are both expected to work out at the school’s pro day, and while the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns and New York Giants sent large contingencies to see them, there reportedly will only be one man reporting back to One Patriot Place.
Patriots vice president of player personnel Ryan Cowden was on a solo mission, according to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer.
New England’s decision to send just one executive was somewhat curious and might’ve helped paint the picture of where the club is leaning with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Hunter wasn’t initially scheduled to work out, but changed his mind and will run routes, according to NFL Media’s James Palmer.
Could that have played into the decision?

It’s tough to say, though a small trip down memory lane will remind us all that New England sent nine representatives to watch Drake Maye at North Carolina’s pro day in 2024. Will Campbell already had his pro day, though there weren’t any reports about who represented each club to come out of it.
The Patriots could just be doing things a bit differently under Mike Vrabel, especially considering they aren’t scouting a quarterback.
Should you be hitting the panic button if you want Hunter? No, but this is information to keep in your back pocket, for sure.
