The New York Jets are 0-7 in 2025, and it goes without saying that the start of the Aaron Glenn era has been a nightmare. Jets fans entered the campaign with optimism that new QB Justin Fields would lead Gang Green to some wins, but Fields has been a major disappointment, and even Glenn is beginning to doubt the QB.

Glenn benched Fields at halftime of Sunday’s Week 7 loss to the Carolina Panthers, and now, fans are wondering if Glenn will continue to roll with Tyrod Taylor as the team’s starter moving forward.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport discussed the situation on Monday.

“It was just a week ago that Aaron Gunn was fielding questions about the job security of Justin Fields,” Rapoport said. “Then (Fields) went out yesterday and had a bad first half … (and) Tyrod Taylor … started the second half for the New York Jets.”

“Unfortunately for the Jets, it really didn’t get any better (with Taylor), Rapoport continued. “Taylor came in, and the offense was essentially the same.”

“After the game, Aaron Glenn … was non committal about whether or not Fields will continue to be the starter, but certainly, even if Fields does continue to be the starter, his job status is not set in stone.”

Fields has a passer rating of 91.1 with 845 yards and four touchdowns in six games this season. He’s now 14-36 as an NFL starter.

The Jets signed Fields to a two-year, $40 million contract in March after Glenn and first-year GM Darren Mougey decided to move on from Aaron Rodgers, a decision that has to be called into question at this point.

The Jets will be on the road in Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
