Which NBA Team Stands Out As Best Out West?

With four teams in the state of California, there has been a debate of which team out west is the best. From the Los Angeles Lakers to Sacramento Kings, there has been numerous iconic California teams in the NBA.

On NESN’s “Hold My Banner” podcast, Travis Thomas and Ountae Campbell have the debate of who reigns as the best California team.

“No. 1 I’m going the Kings,” Thomas said. “I trust the Kings’ big three more than I trust the Pelicans, honestly…I think I like the Kings, man. I think out of the (California) teams, for my money, I’d bet on the Kings to be the top of that heat.”

During the 2023-24 season, Sacramento was ninth in the Western Conference with a 46-36 record. The California team that performed the best during the season were the Los Angeles Clippers who were fourth with a 51-31 record.

“I agree with you, the Kings are the best team in California,” Campbell said.
