Abdul Carter isn’t very active on social media, but he broke his silence in that forum with a somewhat cryptic post Thursday.
Carter took to X and shared a photo of a poster featuring Lawrence Taylor, arguably the greatest linebacker of all time. Taylor, of course, spent his entire 13-year NFL career with the New York Giants, who could be in play to draft the Penn State product April 24.
The motive behind Carter’s post was unclear. The photo, which wasn’t accompanied by any sort of caption, simply could have been the 21-year-old’s way of revealing he was in the Meadowlands for his pre-draft visit with the G-Men. However, many likely will interpret the post as Carter revealing where he prefers to land on Draft Day.
The supremely talented pass-rusher also reportedly will visit the Patriots on Monday, but having Carter at Gillette Stadium might prove to be nothing more than a tease for New England. In wake of recent developments, it’s starting to feel unlikely that Carter will become the newest member of Mike Vrabel’s defense.
The Giants, meanwhile, might be hoping the Browns don’t take Carter at No. 2. But a recent addition made by Cleveland also put that hypothetical in jeopardy.
