The Patriots have a true No. 1 receiver for the first time in years with Stefon Diggs. New England inked the wideout to a three-year deal to put an exclamation point on free agency.
Diggs instantly becomes Drake Maye’s best target and significantly raises the potential of a lately inconsistent wide receiver room for the Patriots. Diggs had seven consecutive seasons with over 1,000 yards before he tore his ACL last year. The veteran wideout appears ahead of schedule in his recovery and looks fluid in his movements in a recent workout video.
Former NFL, and briefly Patriots, receiver Chad Johnson clearly likes what he sees from Diggs at this point of his rehab process and laid out an encouraging prediction for his 2025 season.
“1300 (yards) 11 (touchdowns) this season,” Johnson said on X when he reposted Diggs’ workout video.
Diggs scored eight touchdowns in his career against the Patriots and should find the end zone as the best skill-player for New England in 2025.
