The Boston Red Sox are still waiting on a trio of starting pitchers to start the regular season in Brayan Bello, Lucas Giolito and Kutter Crawford.

Giolito made another rehab start with Triple-A Worcester this week and Bello took his turn Friday night. The right-hander tossed four innings with three runs (two earned) and four hits allowed. The Red Sox starter did not walk a batter and struck out five.

Bello earned the Opening Day start for the Red Sox in 2024. He made 30 starts and went 14-8 with a 4.49 ERA in 162 1/3 innings. He also signed a seven-year extension with Boston prior to the 2024 season, which was announced before the Dominican Series.

Bello’s return will be a welcomed one for the Red Sox with Richard Fitts and Sean Newcomb filling the holes behind established starters in Garrett Crochet, Tanner Houck and Walker Buehler.

Giolito and Bello could return before the end of April while the Red Sox will likely see Crawford in May.
