Liam Hendriks did his part in an ongoing minor-league tradition during his rehab stint with the Boston Red Sox.

Hendriks took care of the players and staff late last summer in Portland and Worcester. With the Red Sox reliever still rehabbing from elbow inflammation this week on the road with Portland in Hartford, Conn., for the Sea Dogs, Hendriks stepped up again.

Most MLB players on rehab assignments sponsor meals for the minor-league players, coaches and team personnel during their visits. Hendriks rented a food truck for both teams to eat from prior to Wednesday’s contest at Dunkin’ Park.

Hendriks and Brayan Bello will both take the mound Wednesday with hopes of returns around the corner for the Red Sox. Lucas Giolito took the ball Tuesday night and tossed two innings as he works back from a hamstring strain.
