College Football Odds: Boston College Heavy Underdog On Road Vs. Duke

The Boston College Eagles will gun for their first ACC victory this season when they visit the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday as 7-point betting underdogs at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The Eagles improved their overall record to 3-1 last week, as the nation’s top-ranked defense held the Northern Illinois Huskies to just 153 total yards of offense in a 17-14 win, but had to settle for the push as 3-point betting favorites.

The point total played UNDER for a third time this season against the Huskies, and the fifth time in Boston College’s last seven games, with more of the same possible in Saturday afternoon’s Eagles vs. Blue Devils betting matchup at Wallace Wade Stadium, in which the total has fallen to a paltry 37 after opening at 41.

Duke also has ridden a stingy defense to an early 3-1 record, both straight up and against the spread, holding opponents to just 11.5 points per game.

The Blue Devils are a solid 3-1 SU and ATS in their last four home dates, while the UNDER has prevailed in 12 of their 16 contests since the start of last season.

But it is the Eagles who have prevailed in recent meetings with Duke, winning two of their last three SU, 1-2 ATS, with the UNDER an unsurprising 3-0 in those contests according to the OddsShark College Football Database.

The Eagles also recorded a 21-16 victory as 3-point underdogs in their last visit to Durham five years ago.

In other college football betting action around the ACC this weekend, No. 12 Clemson returns from a bye last week to face No. 6 Notre Dame on Saturday night in a matchup hovering around a pick’em at the sportsbooks.

The Tigers’ ranking slipped one spot in the AP Top 25 while they were idle. But with a perfect 4-0 SU record this season, 3-1 ATS, complemented by their current 11-game SU home winning streak, the Tigers remain contenders to reach this year’s College Football Playoff.

Meanwhile, the Florida State Seminoles travel to Wake Forest to take on the Demon Deacons as 19-point chalk, while the undefeated North Carolina State Wolfpack look for their eighth straight SU win, battling the Louisville Cardinals as 4.5-point favorites.

The struggling Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets welcome the North Carolina Tar Heels as reduced 7-point home favorites, while the Pittsburgh Panthers aim for a third straight ATS road win when they visit the Virginia Tech Hokies as 5-point underdogs.
