ACC Football Odds: North Carolina A 13-Point Favorite Over Rival Miami

The North Carolina Tar Heels can clinch the top spot in the Atlantic Coast Conference Coastal Division on Saturday when they host the Miami Hurricanes as 13-point betting favorites at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

North Carolina rides an eight-game straight-up winning streak into Saturday afternoon’s Hurricanes vs. Tar Heels betting matchup at Kenan Stadium, following its 66-31 beatdown of the Duke Blue Devils in its Victory Bell clash last weekend.

That win severely diminished the Blue Devils’ hopes of claiming the ACC Coastal title, dropping them to 3-2 SU in conference play while moving UNC to 5-0, one game ahead of Pittsburgh with three games remaining in the conference schedule.

While the Tar Heels control their own destiny and can lock up the division crown with wins in their next two contests, a Panthers win this weekend in their visit to Duke could immediately guarantee UNC its first-ever trip to the ACC championship game.

Combined with a Panthers victory over Duke, a Tar Heels win over Miami will seal the division for UNC while bringing another promising Blue Devils season to a disappointing end.

The Panthers hope to end a two-game SU losing streak when they take on Duke as 3 1/2-point underdogs.

The Blue Devils also have lost two in a row, SU and ATS, including a controversial 30-27 last-second loss to the Hurricanes that bounced them from the AP Top 25. But Duke was a solid 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS in the five home games preceding its loss to Miami, according to the OddsShark College Football Database, and posted a 51-48 win over Pittsburgh last season.

The Clemson Tigers already have clinched the ACC Atlantic Division and will look to maintain their perch atop the College Football Playoff rankings with a third consecutive SU win over Syracuse, whom they meet this week as 28-point chalk.

Despite their 3-6 overall record, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons also play a game with CFP implications, taking on Notre Dame as 27-point road underdogs. The Fighting Irish ascended to No. 4 in the CFP rankings this week and likely will remain in national championship contention by winning out in their final three.

However, Notre Dame’s road to the College Football Playoff still must go through Boston College, which it plays next week at Fenway Park. The Irish have won four in a row against the Eagles and likely will be heavy favorites. They eked out victories by just four or fewer points in two of those matchups.
