Fantasy Football Week 8: Starts, Sits For Jaguars Vs. Titans ‘Thursday Night Football’ Game

You probably know by now whether your fantasy football team is a contender, but even the best sometimes need advice.

Luckily for you, we’re here to help with our “Thursday Night Football” start/sit advice for the Jacksonville Jaguars-Tennessee Titans game.

Jacksonville Jaguars
Quarterback: We’d usually say to start a quarterback going up against the Titans, but there are just too many question marks when it comes to Bortles. Bortles and the Jaguars were supposed to take the next step this year, but he’s thrown just as many interceptions as touchdowns.

Running Back: We’d also stay away from the Jaguars’ backfield. T.J. Yeldon has eclipsed 40 yards in a game just once this season and hasn’t found the end zone since Week 1. Plus, Chris Ivory continues to take away reps, although he hasn’t exactly been capitalizing on them.

Wide Receiver: The Jaguars are loaded with young talent at wide receiver, but Bortles’ struggles complicate things for fantasy owners of Allen Hurns, Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson. We’d definitely start Lee after he caught seven of his eight targets for 107 yards last weekend. That meant Hurns wasn’t as much of a factor against the Oakland Raiders, but he still leads the team in receiving yards. Robinson, however, only caught two of his eight targets for 9 yards last weekend, so you might want to avoid him.

Tight End: Thomas is questionable, so make sure you keep an eye on his status if you plan on starting him this week. But you probably shouldn’t start him in the first place — he hasn’t recorded more than 29 yards in each of his last three games.

Defense: Lol.

Tennessee Titans

Quarterback: Unlike Bortles, Marcus Mariota has shown some promise this season. He’s thrown 12 touchdowns with only six interceptions, making him an ideal backup if your quarterback is on a bye or injured this week.

Running Back: If you have DeMarco Murray and don’t start him, you should be forced to drop him immediately. Murray’s third in the NFL with 633 rushing yards, and he also five touchdowns. As a result, Derrick Henry has rushed for under 10 yards four times this season, including both of the last two weeks. Don’t start him.

Wide Receiver: Tajae Sharpe is questionable, and while he did have a bounceback game against the Indianapolis Colts last week, his stats haven’t been good enough to warrant a fantasy start following his impressive Week 1 debut. That means it would be a good week to start either Rishard Matthews or Kendall Wright.

Tight End: Delanie Walker has been Tennessee’s top weapon in its passing game, and he’s coming off an 84-yard, one-touchdown performance against the Colts.

Defense: Lol (squared).
