The Boston Bruins will be looking to wrap up a four-game swing through the Western Conference with a third straight victory when they visit the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday as +105 underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Boston escaped with a 2-1 overtime win over the Minnesota Wild as a -109 wager Sunday to claim consecutive wins for the first time in eight outings going into Tuesday night’s Bruins vs. Jets betting matchup at Bell MTS Centre.

The Bruins’ visit to Winnipeg closes out a nine-game span that has featured eight away contests. The club has struggled offensively, averaging just two goals per game over its past three games, and has tallied two or fewer markers on four occasions over its past eight. However, the Bruins defense has been equally stingy, holding opponents to two goals per game over their past five, fueling a 6-2 run for the UNDER for totals bettors.

The club’s recent success also has kept it in contention for top spot in the Atlantic Division standings, where it closely trails the first-place Tampa Bay Lightning, whom it faces twice over the next week. However, the Bruins cannot afford to look past the surging Jets, who are coming off a 5-4 shootout victory over the league-leading Nashville Predators as -146 home chalk to extend their current win streak to five games.

Sunday night’s victory clinched a playoff spot for the Jets and also established a new franchise record for most points in a season with 102. That leaves them just five points back of Nashville in the hunt for top spot in the Western Conference and bolsters their position on the Stanley Cup odds at +950.

While the Jets now are unbeaten in six games on home ice, they have struggled in recent dates with Boston. The Bruins have held Winnipeg to just five total goals in four straight wins, capped by a 2-1 victory as a -123 home favorite on Dec. 21, according to the OddsShark NHL Database.

Following Tuesday’s contest, the Bruins return home for a crucial matchup with the Lightning on Thursday before closing out March with a Saturday visit from the Florida Panthers.

Tampa Bay has posted wins in five of its last six road dates and owns an NHL-best 24-12-2 road record.  The Lightning have dropped seven of eight overall to the Bruins, but are a respectable 3-3-0 in their past six visits to Boston.
