Cano Hits Walk-Off Single As Yanks Win Again Another day, another Yankees victory.

Wednesday's came after Robinson Cano singled into right field with Alex Rodriguez at second base in the bottom of the 11th against the Blue Jays, plating A-Rod and giving fans in the Bronx another reason to celebrate, as the Bombers extended their lead in the AL East to six games.

Cano had homered earlier in the game, launching a Ricky Romero pitch deep into the second deck in right field to lead off the bottom of the fourth inning.

Chad Gaudin, who was scheduled to start on Sunday for Joba Chamberlain, picked up the win, pitching two innings and striking out three Blue Jays.

The Jays made it a game in the top of the sixth inning when Raul Chavez hit an RBI single and Edwin Encarnacion scored on a wild pitch to tie the game at three runs apiece.

The score remained that way until the bottom of the 11th, when Rodriguez was struck by a Shawn Camp pitch with one out. Jorge Posada followed that with a single, before Cano ended the game on the first pitch of his at-bat.

Johnny Damon also clubbed his 22nd home run of the year — a solo shot — in the third inning.

Derek Jeter left the game after being hit in the foot with a pitch.

The win is the Yankees' ninth in their last 10 games. They are now 41-18 at home, giving them the best such mark in the majors.
