The Portsmouth, N.H., Little League team opened up a four-run lead in the top of the first inning, courtesy of a grand slam from cleanup hitter Richard Riley.

It was all Rhode Island from there, however, as the team from Lincoln scored seven unanswered runs to improve its record to 3-1 heading into the semifinals.

Jeffrey Sheehan pitched five scoreless innings of relief, striking out 10 of the 19 batters he faced and giving up just four hits.

At the dish, Alec Cronan drove in a team-high four runs, with Jake Petrin driving in a pair and Tyler Duquette plating another run.
