Celtics Rock Jazz, Roll to Balanced 105-86 Victory The Utah Jazz were in town on Wednesday night, but disco was the music of choice by midway through the second half, as dancing Gino was on the scoreboard early in the Celtics’ 105-86 dismantling of the Jazz.

Doc Rivers
’ crew jumped out to an early lead and headed into the locker room at halftime with a 10-point lead at the break. Despite a spirited effort by hobbled guard Deron Williams, who posted 13 points, the Jazz were no match for the C’s deep bench, which added 35 points in helping Boston to its eighth win of the season.

Headliner:
Seven Celtics reached double figures in scoring, but Kevin Garnett led them all with 18 points as the Big Ticket shot 7-for-10 from the floor while adding four rebounds and a pair of steals.

Garnett all but sealed things up for the C’s with just a couple minutes remaining in the third quarter as he took an alley-oop feed from Rajon Rondo and dunked over a pair of Jazz defenders to send the Garden crowd to its feet.

Unsung Hero: Rondo checked in with 14 points and 11 assists as the guard picked up his third double-double of the season. It was the sixth contest in which he’s registered 10 assists or more.

Rasheed Wallace (12 points), Sheldon Williams (six points, six rebounds) and Marquis Daniels (10 points) continued their solid play off the C's pine.

Scrub: The Jazz’s long-range game was nowhere to be found as Utah shot 0-for-10 from behind the arc. Their short game wasn’t much better as they were successful on just 47 percent (37-for-79) of their shots from the floor. The Jazz also coughed up 21 turnovers to the Celtics' 15.

Turning Point: With just over eight minutes to go in the third, the Celts built a 19-point lead thanks to a Rajon Rondo layup that capped a 7-0 run by the Green. Four Celtics players — Ray Allen, Kendrick Perkins, Garnett and Rondo each got a hand on it thanks to quick and accurate passing before the bucket, which preceded a full timeout from the Jazz bench.

Up Next:
The Celtics are sticking around town after the win as they host the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night at 8 p.m. ET.

Through their first seven games of the season, Joe Johnson has led the Hawks with 21.3 points per game while Jamal Crawford has 18.1. The Hawks have started the season 5-2, including a 114-101 come-from-behind win over the lowly Knicks on Wednesday night.

Last year, Atlanta went winless against the C’s in four contests, just one season after taking the Celtics to seven games in the 2008 Eastern quarterfinals that previous spring.
