'Jersey Shore' Trumps LeBron James for Most-Anticipated Miami Arrival This Summer Who needs LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh when you can have Snooki, The Situation and Pauly D?

While Miami seemed excited to see James and Bosh join Wade in Vice City earlier this summer, the cast of MTV’s Jersey Shore made bigger headlines on Thursday night when the first episode of the new season debuted in the crew’s new Miami digs.

While today’s average pop cultured American knows Football Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith as “that guy from Dancing With the Stars,” it’s only a matter of time until James becomes “that guy who plays basketball in JWoww‘s town.”

Whether you’re on the Shore or in Miami, fist pumps will always trump finger-rolls.

Quote of the Day

“I think this team is special. I really feel that there is something around the corner for this team. With me being here, [it] has really created a buzz. I think the guys feel the energy.”

Comment of the Day

Heading into the deadline, this Red Sox fan hasn’t forgotten the Jeff Bagwell debacle.

I agree, 20 years ago at about this time, the Sox were looking for a reliever. Lou Gorman contacts Houston about Larry Andersen, Houston wants Scott Cooper, got down on their knees and begged for Scott Cooper. But “Sweet Lou” was too smart for that, he talks them into taking a AA thirdbaseman, who, the very next year won NL Rookie of the Year and NL MVP the next. And everytime during his career,I would be watching Sportcenter and see Jeff Bagwell swing, that perfect Fenway swing, I would curse Lou Gormans name. You don’t trade top wrung talent for relief pitchers.”
