The film, produced by Major League Baseball, captures the incredible spirit of the 2004 Red Sox, who famously battled back from a 3-0 deficit in the ALCS to beat the Yankees and advance to the World Series. Though winning that World Series erased 86 years of torment, the comeback against the Yankees was perhaps even more improbable.
One of the keys to that run was Curt Schilling, who pitched poorly in Game 1 of the series after suffering an ankle injury in the ALDS. The veteran returned for Game 6 after undergoing a procedure on his ankle tendon, and his bloody sock has become as legendary as his brilliant performance.
There were doubters who questioned the legitimacy of the bloody sock, but after watching the following video, there’s nothing left to question.
The film debuts Tuesday night at 8 p.m.
