The Red Sox are looking to add an experienced southpaw to the pen in four-time All-Star Brian Fuentes, according to the Boston Herald.

According to a major-league source, the Herald is reporting that the Sox are interested in Fuentes, who went 4-1 with a 2.81 ERA in 48 appearances for the Angels and Twins in 2010.

Despite coming off a two-year, $17.5 million contract, the 35-year-old may be forced to take a pay cut heading into 2011, his 11th season in the MLB.

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound California native has notched 187 career saves including a career- and MLB-high 48 in 2009 as a member of the Halos.
