There’s plenty of indecision about where Carmelo Anthony may or may not be playing for the rest of this season. Anthony is making one thing clear, though. He’s making his own decision.
Yahoo’s Marc Spears reports that Anthony’s wife, LaLa Vazquez is not swaying his decision about where to play. It’s been rumored that Vazquez, best known for her work with MTV, wants Anthony to choose a large market, but the All-Star forward has shot those rumors down.
“Y’all put this in bold words, LaLa has nothing to do with anything,” Anthony said. “Whatever is my decision, she is going to support me. She has nothing to do with me staying or leaving. Nothing. So please keep her out of it. Thank you.”
While Anthony acknowledged that he’ll obviously consult his wife, it’s ultimately his decision.
“It’s normal, you got to consult with your family about decisions like that,” he acknowledged. “That’s all she has been doing. She hasn’t had any say-so what I should do or where I should go.”
Vazquez was born in Brooklyn, which may be the biggest reason for the rumor that she wants Anthony to play in a big market like New York.
