Vote: Which NBA Player Is Most Valuable to Their Team? A midseason rash of injuries has hit the NBA in the past couple of weeks, and it hasn’t spared even some of the game’s best and most influential players.

In Boston, the Celtics have been without one of their “Big Three” since Dec. 29, as Kevin Garnett continues to work his way back from a leg injury. He’s expected to return to the Celtics for Monday’s clash with the Magic. KG’s return doesn’t come a moment too soon. While the Celtics have stayed afloat in his absence, it’s clear that they’re not the same team with Glen Davis at the power forward as they with Garnett.

Dallas recently got a key return as well, one that should help the Mavericks regain their spot near the top of the NBA. Dirk Nowitzki returned to the lineup Saturday night — although to be ejected shortly thereafter — but his return will only help the Mavs.

LeBron James has missed some time as of late with a sprained ankle. Perhaps not coincidentally, the Heat are on a mini three-game losing streak.

While Kobe Bryant remains healthy for the most part in Los Angeles, he has battled some knee issues as of late. A long-term injury to the superstar would certainly derail any thoughts of an NBA title three-peat in Tinseltown.

Success for NBA teams usually depends on the general health of a couple of key players. For some players, though, their health can make or break a season.
