On Sunday afternoon, Fox was able to produce some grainy and altogether unconvincing video evidence that the Patriots were guilty of trying to trip a New York Jets special teamer on a punt. Later in the afternoon, CBS pulled up some footage that was a little more damning — and also pointed out the culprit.

According to ProFootballTalk.com, CBS Sports showed clear video footage that seemed to back up an earlier report from FOX that the Patriots indeed tried to trip Jets punt team gunner as he ran down the sideline in punt coverage. The clear video from CBS’ NFL pregame show, The NFL Today, also appears to show Patriots guard Ryan Wendell as the guilty party.

CBS analyst Charlie Casserly also speculated on the pregame show that the Patriots likely won’t be disciplined by the league for their actions, as the unit lined up near the sideline and the offensive lineman appeared to be waiting to enter the game.

CBS has yet to post the video of the incident that was shown on Sunday’s pregame show.
