Which Current Player on Celtics' Roster Had the Best College Career? There's no questioning that the Celtics have a few surefire Hall of Famers on their roster. Not surprisingly, then, they also have a handful of players who had some very prolific college careers.

Celtics captain Paul Pierce made it clear where his allegiances stand when talking about his Kansas Jayhawks' NCAA tournament opener with Boston University. Before being Boston's first-round pick in 1998, Pierce was a legend in Lawrence. Pierce won two Big 12 tournament MVP awards, and he became an All-American in his junior season before leaving for the NBA.

C's fans knew about Ray Allen before he came to Boston, and before he went pro, even. That's because — even before showing off his acting prowess in He Got Game — Allen put his name on the map in his time at the University of Connecticut. Allen was one of the greatest players in UConn history, near the top of the Huskies' all-time scoring leaders. Like Pierce, he was an All-American in his final year in Storrs, a season in which he won the Big East Player of the Year award.

The Celtics also have arguably the two best big men in LSU history. Shaquille O'Neal took the world by storm in Baton Rouge in his time with Tigers. O'Neal was a two-time All-American, won multiple player of the year honors and is a member of the LSU athletics hall of fame. Shaq poured in averages of 21.6 points and 13.5 rebounds with the Tigers. Likewise, Glen Davis was once known as "Baby Shaq" before becoming "Big Baby." He was an All-American and was named the SEC player of the year. He also did something O'Neal never did — he got LSU to the Final Four.

Not to be overlooked are Delonte West and Troy Murphy.

While at St. Joseph's, West played alongside Jameer Nelson on a 2003-04 Hawks team that came out of nowhere to become a national power. Behind West's perimeter shooting and almost 19 points per game, St. Joe's ran through the Atlantic-10 schedule. The team went a perfect 27-0 in the regular season, and eventually went all the way to the Elite Eight before losing to Oklahoma State (and Tony Allen).

Murphy was no slouch at Notre Dame, either. He was a two-time All-American who averaged over 21 points and just under 10 rebounds per contest.
