Depending on who you talk to, Boston felt the effects of a 5.8 magnitude earthquake that took place in Virginia on Tuesday afternoon.

NESN's own Randy Scott tweeted, "I kid you not: Watertown [Mass.] just felt an earthquake. Anyone else in the Boston area feel that, too? Or am I just losing my mind? #Earthquake"

Randy's not crazy, according to Boston Globe senior assistant sports editor Gregory H. Lee, who tweeted, "I think we felt an earthquake here at the Boston Globe. The entire building shook."

NFL Network's Albert Breer told a different story.

"Nothing in Boston," Breer tweeted, in response to the initial earthquake report.

Paul Pierce's "Truth on Health" Twitter account reported that the earthquake was felt in both its New York City and Boston offices, as well.

The Boston Herald's Ian Rapoport had some jokes to share about the quake.

"Guys: Sources cannot confirm [Albert] Haynesworth's participation in #Patriots practice caused the earthquake," Rapoport tweeted. "Searching for more sources…"

ESPN.com's Rich Cimini said the earthquake was felt in New York, adding his own Jets-flavor joke.

"Just felt tremor in #Jets press room in Florham Park, N.J.," Cimini tweeted. "No, it wasn't Rex Ryan belly-laughing over ridiculous comments by [Vernon] Gholston."
