Jose Canseco is the best. He’s just awesome. And if you follow him on Twitter, you are nodding your head in agreement right now.

The former big league slugger, best-selling author and current minor league/bush league/softball league crusader has a way of going off on zany Twitter rants from time to time.

He was at it again on Monday night into Tuesday, as Canseco prepares for a chance to catch on with the Quintana Roo Tigres of the Mexican League.

Canseco’s move to the Mexican League as a downtrodden former star in the majors is not unlike the career path of Kenny Powers, a fictional character from the HBO series Eastbound and Down, perhaps the only funnier person in this world than Canseco himself.

Maybe that’s what led Canseco to tweet the following on Tuesday morning.

“Kenny powers has nothing on me.”

Amen, Jose, but this is a far cry from the time that, you know, said that Kenny Powers was based on your life.

Tuesday morning’s tweet, though, was just the cherry on top of a 12-hour tweeting binge in which Canseco offered some real gems.

From there, Canseco went on to tweet in Spanish for the duration of his evening, before waking up (assuming he did go to sleep) to tweet about Kenny Powers.

As far as Canseco’s baseball career goes, he’s in Mexico looking to make the Tigres, and he’s doing so alongside former Red Sox outfielder Joey Gathright.

And in all seriousness, here’s hoping it goes well for Canseco, with plenty of balls launched into the jungle this season in Mexico.

If you were starting a franchise, who would you take first? Jose Canseco or Kenny Powers? Or would you just quit?
