Philadelphia's Jason Peters Named Top Left Tackle, Matt Light at No. 18 in Bleacher Report's Top 1,000Offensive lineman are the unsung heroes of an NFL team. These hard-working men in the trenches never seem to receive enough credit for protecting a quarterback, especially those at the left tackle position.

Left tackles are the primary pass blockers on a team's offensive line. They must be aware and agile to protect their QB from defensive ends who rush from the left side, most quarterbacks' "blind side."

Bleacher Report is putting together a 20-part, 10-week series profiling the top 1,000 current NFL players. Week two breaks down the skill sets of the best 32 left tackles in the league.

The Eagles' Jason Peters, the Browns' Joe Thomas and the Texans' Duane Brown were ranked in the top three spots, respectively. Patriots left tackle Matt Light came in at No. 18.

Bleacher Report's analysis of each left tackle includes measuring their agility, pass block speed and power, strength, technique and size among other abilities.

The next installment will debut on Monday, Feb. 27 and feature fullbacks.
