Kendall Williams is always a threat to go for 20 and 10, but he also isn’t opposed to moving his bishop to F5.

Williams, New Mexico’s all-everything point guard, is a known chess enthusiast. After leading the Lobos to a victory over Long Beach State in the first round, he revealed that this March Madness business has put on hold a big match back in the Land of Enchantment.

Williams has a running rivalry with a New Mexico graduate student, Daniel Cornish, with the players splitting two earlier matches, according to Yahoo! Sports. The rubber match has been put on hold.

“We still have to play a third game,” Williams said. “I’ve been telling him I’m busy right now because we’ve been on the road, but when I get back I have a score to settle.”

Before he returns to performing some castles and en passants, Williams has to determine his endgame in the tourney.
